Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Pixel Legion (the "Service"), operated by Pixel Legion ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, connecting a third-party account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase coaching, sell coaching, or receive payouts. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may sign in with an email and password or through a supported third-party provider (such as Discord or Google). Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to the Service or other users.
4. The marketplace — coaches and students
Pixel Legion is a marketplace that connects players seeking coaching ("Students") with independent coaches ("Coaches"). Coaches are independent contractors, not our employees or agents. We do not provide coaching ourselves, do not guarantee any particular result or ranking improvement, and are not a party to the agreement formed between a Student and a Coach for a session. Coaches set their own rates, availability, and lesson content, and are solely responsible for the services they provide.
5. Payments, fees, and payouts
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. When a Student books a session, payment is authorized and is captured when the Coach accepts the request; declined requests are not charged. We retain a platform service fee (currently 15%) and remit the remainder to the Coach (currently 85%) through Stripe Connect, subject to Stripe's payout timing and requirements. Coaches are responsible for any taxes on their earnings. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for amounts you owe. "Pixels" are a non-cash loyalty feature, have no monetary value, and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
6. Cancellations, no-shows, and refunds
Specific cancellation, no-show, and refund conditions are presented at the time of booking and may vary by Coach. A session marked as a no-show may be subject to a fee as disclosed during booking. If you believe you were charged in error or a session was not delivered as agreed, contact us and we will review the matter in good faith. We may, at our discretion, issue refunds or reverse payouts where appropriate.
7. Connected gaming accounts
You may link third-party gaming accounts (such as Steam, Riot Games, Battle.net, or Xbox) to import profile and gameplay data. By linking an account you authorize us to access and store the data those platforms make available, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the platform's own terms. You may disconnect a linked account at any time from your account settings. Your use of each platform remains subject to that platform's terms, and we are not responsible for third-party platforms.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) harass, threaten, or abuse other users; (b) cheat, boost, or facilitate account sharing or rank manipulation in violation of a game's rules; (c) attempt to circumvent platform fees by taking transactions off-platform after being matched here; (d) post unlawful, infringing, or misleading content; (e) scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service; or (f) use the Service for any unlawful purpose. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this section.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, branding, and design, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your bio, briefs, or uploaded VODs), and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host and display that content as needed to operate the Service. Game names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that coaching will achieve any specific result, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any Coach is suitable for your needs.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pixel Legion and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to us in the three months before the claim or USD $100.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
